Don’t Forget Food Donations for SMILE!

This is the UMYF’s friendly reminder to our St. Paul family that the first Sunday of each month is designated as the “SMILE Food Pantry Sunday.”  But please also know that the UMYF have placed a box in the Christian Life Center lobby for donations at other times should you happen to forget your “SMILE Sunday” donation.  You can place non-perishable food items in this box anytime, as it is checked several times each week.  Thanks for caring for those less fortunate by donating to SMILE!  God’s Best 4 Each of U!

 Call For Silent Auction Items

Debby Showalter and her team are hard at work preparing for our annual UMYF Silent Auction which will be held in conjunction with our Spaghetti Supper on March 24, 2012.  This event is our major fund-raiser for our Youth activities, trips and justice projects/giving.  As in the past, we are seeking donations of items for the auction.  If you have a new or nearly new item, a craft item, or other items that would be appropriate for the Silent Auction, please keep us in mind.  A box designated for such items is in the lobby of the Christian Life Center.  Thanks to those who have already contributed!  If you have a lead on an organization/business who may like to donate to this cause, please see or contact Debby Showalter at 410-326-2150.  Debby is also seeking those who can help set up Silent Auction display baskets as we lead up to the Auction/Dinner.  Please contact her if you will help in this area. Students and parents/guardians of our students who have or plan to be part of St. Paul Youth activities, please mark your calendars to help with this fundraiser.

SENIOR HIGH LIFE GROUP

And specifically for our Senior High students, an additional ministry is available to and for you!  Each Thursday evening during the school year it’s “Senior High Life!”  The foundation of this idea came from some of our senior high youth at ROCK Retreat who wished to have more time to explore things uber-relevant to what they are living, day in, day out.  Those senior high students (grade 9-12) who wish to get together with some crucially fun and caring adults do so in the always-fun Lewis family home on Thursday nights, 7:00-8:30 p.m.  There we explore real life with other friends and “with God in the group.”  The address is 2195 Cove Point Road…senior high’s, come join in the fun starting Sept 15!

And certainly don’t forget that every Sunday morning our student Sunday School classes offer each age group the opportunity to explore a topic about how God does and can work in our lives.  As the “busyness” ramps up with a new school year, let’s remember to take advantage…but never take for granted…the opportunities we have to learn about God, hear God speak, and respond with our lives in Christian community.  Looking forward to a GREAT YEAR as we let God speak to and through us and as we let God lead us all!

A Huge Shout-Out to all Students in Grades 7 - 12!

You are invited to The Zone,

the St. Paul United Methodist Youth Fellowship.

We want you to “get into The Zone” with us!  “The Zone is a place to come hang out, be welcome, play, eat, have fun, and learn about the one and only God who is CRAZY ABOUT YOU!  We meet every other  Sunday evening and sometimes in between for concerts, amusement park trips, mission trips to help others, etc.  (See the schedule above.)

Wondering who you are, why you’re here on this planet? Wonder who loves you no matter what you’ve done or what’s been done to you?  The same God who created you and is CRAZY ABOUT YOU.  Know what?  There are some people in “The Zone” who feel the same way.

And there is more!  Jeremiah 29:11 tells us that God has a plan, a destiny for us. Come join us and see what great plans God has for you!

Come on out to “The Zone” and find out more about God, yourself, and your peers who have the same questions as U.  We’ll have a crucially good time in the process.  It’s all about love in “The Zone.”  And U R wanted and welcome!

All UMYF "Uprising" meetings in The Zone are open to any interested youth entering school Grade 7 thru Senior summer.

Senior High Life group is open to all students in grades 9-12!!

 “TWEENERS!”

Tweeners is God’s youth ministry at St. Paul for students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades and is held during the school year.  TWEENERS has been suspended for the time being.  Stay tuned for TWEENERS to be resumed!
